Book your consultationThe Stretta System is a novel endoscopic treatment option for reflux disease. Radiofrequency (RF) energy is delivered to areas around the lower oesophagus and upper stomach using a specially designed balloon and catheter device (Stretta Therapy) which is inserted with the use of endoscopy.
The aim of this treatment is to help regenerated muscle fibres at the junction of the oesophagus and stomach and improve the barrier function and reduce the symptoms of reflux and may be an alternative to long-term medical therapy or surgery. Currently we are evaluating this system and will hope to be able to offer it in Exeter soon.
