The National "Be Clear on Cancer" Campaign launched today warning about heartburn, a common symptom of reflux, and cancers of the oesophagus and stomach, and urges people to seek specialist medical advice. A Public Health England survey reveals that only half of those suffering with persistent heartburn actually see a doctor. The UK has one of the highest incidences of oesophageal cancer in the Europe. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve outcomes and prognosis.
